What is prayer?
Psalms 19:14 "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer."
Isaiah 65:24 "Before they call I will answer; while they are yet speaking I will hear."
Matthew 6:7"And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words."
Prayer is like a telephone.
When is a prayer not a prayer?
James 1:6,7: "But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord "
John 16:23: "In that day you will ask nothing of me. Truly, truly, I say to you, whatever you ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. "
God answers all true prayer, in His own TIME and His own WAY. Why should a disciple of Christ pray when God knows everything anyway? Because He is our loving Father and He expects us to come to Him with our worries, needs, sorrows, concerns and even joys.
