The Choral Music at Zion
What a joy and privilege awaits those who participate in the chorale
at Zion Lutheran Church. The church choir meets regularly during the year,
Wednesday evenings at 8:00 pm. During Advent and Lent, the choir rehearses
Wednesday evenings immediately following the Advent and Lenten mid-week services.
The primary mission of the Zion choir is to spread the truth of the Gospel by means of the
lyrics and tunes of Christian poets and musicians.
The choir presents a wide variety of styles of music. The choir in recent years has prepared and presented classical, contemporary, traditional and Southern gospel music.
Special musicals are prepared for Christmas and Easter.
The Zion choir is a volunteer organization, open to those who wish to use the musical gifts God has
provided. There are no preset requirements of musical ability. Rehearsals are designed to challenge members who have various ranges
of ability. As a matter of church tradition, the choir is typically comprised of members who have
graduated from high school, but high school students are welcome to join as well.
God wants "worshippers" who will worship Him in spirit and in truth (John 14:23). True
corporate worship is enhanced by the great hymns of faith!
“Then sings my soul, my Savior God to thee – How Great Thou Art!”
